Bangkok day one.

OK so I have completely skipped my chronological order thoughts
and just keep guiding you through my adventures in a completely
random order.

First day in Bangkok after reuniting with J and we found that the
weather was..average. Quite cloudy and foggy.
However we soon realized that the friends place that we were staying
in was glorious. In between skyscrapers in the buzzing BCD of Bangkok.

On the dining room table I also found my old favourites Love Hearts!
The cutest thing they are.

Oh and the flat came with a pool too.
I must say I went a bit overboard with the photos of the pool but we
were more than thrilled to find it.

Then after a couple of hours of swimming and loitering it was time to
jump in a PINK! cab and head out to find dinner.

Stockholm on a sunny weekend.

It was me and my baby sister.
Stockholm and a quick flight over.

We had some luggage but not too much.
We were off on an adventure you see.

Cherries.
We love cherries.

Sometimes when we got too tired of walking
or possibly shopping as well
we just sat down and relaxed.
Talked about life and enjoyed each others company.

And Stockholm too!
It is so so beautiful in the summer.

Bellini and lobster at Grill.
I really do not know why I looked
like that but I am assuming I got a tad
too excited about getting two of my
favourite things in the world..
at the same time!

Karaoke party at Nytorget in the labour part
of Stockholm. And according to me the best part.
It was quite funny really her and I just there,
in between all these happily drunken swedes,
just singing along nineties tunes. Bliss.

And then we had our final sit down,
got on the plane and left.
'Til next time though.

"Combo"

"Blu, the innovative street artist who brought us the viralicious wall-painted animation MUTO, is at it again. Just recently, Blu teamed up with David Ellis and together they made COMBO." - BoingBoing.net

Wicked isn't it... I've always wanted to work in a huge space and create something like this. And make a vid like this.

ps: I hope things are well =) I finished my proposal paper and handed it in today. I am now working on my draft.

Mange sud.

I am now almost ready with the photoshopping
business that I have been so immensed in
during these last couple of days.
This means that I am ready to take you through
my whole month away!
(And that is about 500 photos. Yup. 500.)
We shall proceed in a chronological order!

Pretty much the first thing I did was to have
dinner with my wonderful family.
They are the best thing in the world for me.

We ate at a little place called Mange sud in Helsinki.

For starters I chose bouillabaisse as that is my most
favourite soup to eat in the whole world.
And this one was beautiful.
Would you just look at the colour!

I then had some lovely tuna steak with capers and a
pesto kind of sauce. It was divine. And although I felt
like a traitor in my marine biologist soul I still enjoyed it.
(Jeez I am torn aren't I?)

For dessert I chose a split chocolate thing with my sister.
It was very tasty with some cinnamon ice cream on top.
Perfect.

All and all this night was a success pretty much.
The wine flowed, we got great service and the food
was more than delicious.

Oh and here is us:

My beautiful mother

Handsome father

Crazy sister
- she is great though

And moi.

The Sparrow.

Last night all I wanted was to meet up with the girls
and enjoy their company while feeding on something
delicious..but cheap!
(After all my traveling you see I am poor.)

So my friend K made a booking at Sparrow in Perth.

I must say that at first this little Indonesian joint
didn't really look like all that much
but we started chatting and opened a bottle of red.

The Sparrow is strictly BYO with no corkage fee so
that was definitely something we loved!
We then ended up ordering the following items:
beef rendang
gado gado
ikan bakar
tahu tek

(wikipedia these!)

Gado gado

Beef rendang

And I must say it was wonderful!
The gado gado had freshly boiled green vegetables and egg
with a lot of yummy peanut sauce. The tahu tek was very nice
with a fluffy tofu omelet covered in..peanut sauce and the sauce
of beef rendang was spicy and tasty.
The only thing I didn't really like was the fish.
It was dry, although the sauce was wonderful. Go figure.

Anyway, the thing we loved the most was the fact that as we
split the bill (which they were happy to do for us)
we all walked away with paying only 10 dollars!
( 8.5 USD , 6 EURO )

Now that is a delicious bargain!

"Heaven's Dog"

no clue why this restaurant is called "heaven's dog".
My guess, it must be because of their mouth watering dishes.

We ended up here one night during one of our excursions.
We had no plans of eating out, when we went in I was dressed up like I just finished working out.
Luckily, they had a bar away from the main dining room.

And there we enjoyed:

a) rice vermicelli stir fry, niman ranch pork shoulder, shrimp, yellow curry

My favorite kind of noodle, vermicelli. And the shrimp were fresh and not over-cooked.

b) spicy won tons

I heart spicy foods. They used schezuan sauce on this dish and it was mind blowing!

c) shanghai dumplings, pork, rice vinegar, scallions
These soup dumplings were super delish! Filled with wonderful soup.

d) spicy niman ranch lamb skewers, cumin, sesame, chili peppers
Initially, Mikey-Ike didn't like this dish. But after trying it with the pickled carrots, daikon,
and cucumber, he changed his mind.

e) for dessert we had: salted chocolate sorbet on top of a chocolate fudge cake. It was divine.
Lol. When it arrived on our table it looked so good that we forgot to take a photo of it - we demolished it in seconds!
Sorry no photo.

ps: haven't heard anything from you in a while. I hope things are well. Tc!

Treasures

I have a new lovely place to go to every first Sunday of the month.
For ages, I have been wanting to check this place out... Finally yesterday, we [Mum, Auntie, Ate Kat, & grandma] went there. It is called the Alameda Antique Show.

It was huge, row after row of treasures.
Speaking of which, here are my finds:

All leather shoulder bag. Made in Greece. Heart the color of the leather and the buckles. And the perfect size =)

This was placed on the ground, on top of a leather satchel. It must have been my fate to find this shoulder bag, because my eyes spotted it right away amidst of all the goodies/crap surrounding it.

Such a find! Really like this one =))) Heart the color and the dainty detail. All leather body and made in Italy.

I heart my Mum for haggling for me =) She amazed me.

I'd like to know more about buying vintage things. You're the expert, any tips?

Moon Light

.full moon.

When the moon is full I like to let it shine through our window. I find it peaceful. It also bring my most treasured memories when I was a kid in the Philippines.

Good times.

Molinari Delicatessen

Molinari Delicatessen
It is located in North Beach, SF.
It's been there since 1896.

Today, Mikey-Ike surprised me with these:
Homemade Meatballs, Ricotta-filled Ravioli, marinara sauce, and chicken cutlets.

I had a bad experience eating Ravioli in the past.
Ever since, I haven't had Ravioli because of that particular incident.

However after tasting the cheese ravioli, I will never look back again. Later on it'll be hard for me to buy those frozen ones you get at the store.
You can tell the cheese ravioli, were fresh and made with TLC - or maybe I'm just exaggerating.

From Collages

Once I started eating these raviolis, I felt like my taste buds went 'hallelujah'!
Lol. I know crazy, but what can I say... it was damn good.

I'm kinda bias when it comes to meatballs.
I like these meatballs, but not as much as I love Delfina's meatballs.

Molinari has their own take when it comes to meatballs.

As for the Marinara sauce, oh my!
It was one of the best Marinara sauce I've ever had!

Good Chow.

Meet my Little One: Pogro

You can also get one here: widget.foopets.com.
I've always wanted a Lab.
For now, a virtual pet will do - lol!

Crashed

The other day my inner painter-self was calling me.
I answered it.
I did my research...

As I was about to print some images, I don't know what happened but suddenly my bloody computer slipped out of my hand and fell onto the floor.
Ahhh...
For a few seconds, I froze and just stared at my computer falling in slow motion.
Then I heard the awful thud.
Drat!

Anyway, that's my lame excuse for not putting up new post(s) - my apologies.
