Directions
  1. Just mix all ingredients together!
  2. Note:
  3. Adjust the flavor accordingly to your taste. If you prefer less sour then add less vinegar.
  4. You can make more dressing and keep it in the fridge.
  5. Optional ingredients here are the sesame seeds and grated radish.

From here.

One cosy dinner on a Wednesday night.

We head off to Northbridge, a somewhat funny area in Perth
filled with lively restaurants and all sorts of things.

We order Edamame beans (!!) and Asahi beer to start off.
Then Beef No Tataki and chicken maki rolls for him,
miso soup, steamed rice and California rolls for me.
We also share a salad. I was very hungry. Ha!

Beef No Tataki was thinly sliced beef with radish and katsu
sauce and apparently very tasty. My California rolls melted
in the mouth as they were so fresh. The taste was very delicate
and I could distinguish between all of the components
(egg, avocado, prawn) which does not happen too often I'll
tell you. The Asahi was served from ice cold glasses just as we
like it and the salad had a gorgeous dressing.

For desert we got super a favorite!
Remember this one?
Yum!

All and all rather expensive at 70 AUS but..Ah.
Gotta love mid-week din dins!

10 Things I'm Wishing at this Moment

I normally don't dwell on such things.
But I'm feeling a bit Blue today, so I'm going to make an exception.
I'd rather do this than rant and rave.

I want the sun to be Hot enough so that I can go to the Beach.
I want to wear this dress or something like this.

And swirl around.

Take in the fragrance of the Spring flowers.

And read my books, until sunset.

I'm feeling a bit itchy - to be honest.

Monday oh Monday oh Monday.

Today I have taken things
oh so slow.
Just looking for jobs,
reading the newspaper,
eating a slow breakfast.
All while in waiting of
something to show up,
just for me.
Maybe tomorrow?
No hurry though.

Sometimes I enjoy.

These was my . . .

reaction upon learning that Allen Ginsberg was gay - lol.

I had no idea!  Totally caught off guard.  I just had no idea.
I was reading the book that I'm holding [in the photo] and there I learned that he was gay.

Allen Ginsberg one of the famous artists of the Beats [generation]
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_Generation) in the 1950s.
I had a professor back then who was pretty close to these guys.  Mr. Bell was his name, he was the one who introduced me to the Beat writers.

Poem for You

Poem by Bukowski

some people are young and nothing
else and
some people are old and nothing
else
and some people are in between and
just in between.

and if the flies wore clothes on their
backs
and all the buildings burned in
golden fire,
if heaven shook like a belly
dancer
and all the atom bombs began to
cry,
some people would be young and nothing
else and
some people old and nothing
else and
some people old and nothing
else,
and the rest would be the same
the rest would be the same.

the few who are different are eliminated quickly enough
by the police, by their mothers, their
brothers, others; by
themselves.

all that's left is what you
see.

it's
hard.

Would you like to see a film with me?

Let us see Inkheart!

A little film about girls,
boys, fathers, mothers,
stories, villains, love
and mostly..BOOOKS.

Quirky characters like an author who would like nothing
more than to live in the story world he has created in his books.

Library rooms full of books just like I have always dreamed
would
be in my own house when the time is right.

So beautiful!!!!

And my favourite character:
Helen Mirren as the crazy book collecting auntie with wild silver
curls, a large black bow on her head and a bright red scarf around
her neck.

You should see this movie I think.

Dancing w/ San Francisco

This is wicked cool! Check this out!

I'd like to do this in my favorite spots in the City - lol.

I can't really dance. I thought to just wing it *wink*

Enjoy!

Cauliflower

Not sure if you like Cauliflower.  But I thought, I'd share anyway.

Curried Cauliflower w/ raisins and lemon juice.

This is all you need: raisins, lemon and curry powder.

This is very easy.

Before you bake: first cut the cauliflower florets into small pieces.
Set the oven to 375 degrees F.
Then drizzle the florets with a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
And sprinkle a little bit of salt and fresh cracked black pepper - add to taste.

Bake it until you see some of the florets are a bit brown.

After baking: add in the curry powder, lemon juice, and a handful of raisins (or go crazy w/ it!) - again, add to taste.

And there you have it!

Enjoy!

Sometimes there is nothing better than listening to silence.

I am back now and more tired than before I left.
Do not get me wrong though my trip was wonderful
it was just the getting home bit that made it all a bit..
exhausting.

Anyway,
I am now lying in my sweet bed just listening to the
tomatoes growing in the garden.

What a heavenly noise they make.

Hotel Utah

From the outside, you'd think this place is just another bar in the corner.
But every Monday, it's a different story.
They have an open-mic and a mini concert.
I've been wanting to go and that was finally fulfilled last Monday.
Most people who performed were pretty good, worth listening to.
And I liked the crowd, very nice (except for the obnoxious guy we shared the table with).

The guy with a tiny piano.

This guy was pretty amazing.  Nice vocals.

The ShovelMan.  Wicked performance!

The Headliners - StitchCraft.

Pretty cool band.

"With its sunny guitar, sweeping violin, African-inspired beats, and tight female vocal harmonies, StitchCraft boldly defies genre-labeling and produces a brand new sound. Combining a unique mix of guitar, fiddle, drums, mandolin, percussion, and weaving vocals, this trio out of San Francisco, California plays a dynamic and versatile array of music from lyrical ballads to driving and powerful anthems, from pop-driven, loop-based electric pandemonium, to genre-bending, world-music-inspired folk fusion. Their music mixes rich harmonic arrangements, thoughtful lyrics, and undercurrents intricately woven rhythms to produce delicate yet vivid melodic textures." - theUtah.org

Someday...

I'd like to live where I'm surrounded by these...

and the water (ocean, lake, etc...)

So serene.

So refreshing.

Tranquil.

And it makes me smile.

Oh... how wonderful it is...

Did you ever send in your resume for this?

British man wins Australian island dream job

By KRISTEN GELINEAU

SYDNEY – A bungee jumping, ostrich-riding British charity worker was named Wednesday the winner of what's been dubbed the "Best Job in the World" — a 150,000 Australian dollar ($111,000) contract to serve as the caretaker of a tropical Australian island.

Ben Southall, 34, beat out nearly 35,000 applicants from around the world for the dream assignment to swim, explore and relax onHamilton Island in the Great Barrier Reef for six months while writing a blog to promote the area.

He was selected for the gig by officials from the tourism department of Queensland state.

Southall and 15 other finalists spent the past four days on the Queensland island for an extended interview process, which required applicants to snorkel through crystalline waters, gorge themselves at a beach-side barbecue and relax at a spa. The finalists also had to demonstrate their blogging abilities, take swimming tests and sit through in-person interviews.

In his application video, Southall expressed a love for adventure, and featured photographs of himself riding an ostrich, running a marathon, trekking through Africa and kissing a giraffe.

The job is part of a AU$1.7 million tourism campaign to publicize the charms of northeastern Queensland, and officials say it has already generated more than AU$100 million worth of publicity for the region.

Southall will live for free in an airy, three-bedroom oceanfront villa with a private pool and sweeping views of the surrounding islands.

The job begins July 1.

I am off to new adventures.

I am going here:

Click on the image and it will tell you my whereabouts for the next
week or so. Or maybe I will tell you myself.

I will be:

on an island
with my nose buried in a book
my belly full of yummy rice
and hugging my best friend

Tadddah!
See you in a week or so.
