Flying Books in North Beach

Pre-New Years Eve night.

Flying books in North Beach. (we didn't take the photo of the ground) on the sidewalk of where this flying books were installed, there were random words. I'm guessing this is a tribute to the Beat Generation writers and poets (i.e. Ferlinghetti, Snyder, Kerouac, Ginsberg, etc...)

The Taste of Tea

"Meet the Harunos, a rather unconventional but happy family and loving family. They live in a small town in the mountains just outside of Tokyo where life is good and quiet -- but that doesn't mean they don't have their own little problems.

Eight-year old Sachiko is bothered at inopportune moments by her own giant-sized double, who hangs around sitting on buildings staring at her, while her older brother Hajime privately wrestles with raging hormones and love-struck crush on a pretty new classmate.

The grown-ups havetheir difficulties too: the mother struggles to come out of retirement as an animator, and the father is a professional hypnotist who occasionally plies his treade on his own family with often-funny results. An uncle drops in for a visit, but he also has a hidden agenda as he comesto terms iwth a romace that ended years ago. Another uncle who is a successful manga artist also stops in for his birthday, wanting to give himself something special. And finally there's Grandpa, the most eccentric and perhaps the most perceptive of all, who continues to search for a better way to live life to the fullest.

Written, directed and edited by Katsuhito Ishii, The Taste of Tea is a unique and gentle family portrait tackling the universal themes of time, family and life."

Special Memories with this one. Although she (Laffin Sal) can be so freakin scary...

Kidz...

Whenever I'm driving down to Santa Cruz this [very] rundown house by the road, always catches my eye and I've always wanted to take a photo of it. Today, I was finally able to do that. Sadly, it is being sold.

The gorgeous Pacific Ocean (off HI 1)

Lovely Madonna and I=) are enjoying the scenery and just relaxing before things get hectic again.

We were driving by... and suddenly we saw these Two, leisurely walking by the road. Aren't they beautiful!

I raise my glas to the new year, may it be a good one.

I can truly feel
Christmas,
the one that
passed.

I can feel it on
my thighs
my midriff
my buttocks
my insides

Needless to say
something
must be done.

So I am off.
For a couple
of days
down south
with my love
and my surfboard.

And I shall
return
slimmer than ever.

In the
mean time
I hope
you will have
the best of
New Years!

Ho ho ho...

Track Santa by satellite!
Published: Wednesday, 24 December 2008, 3:20PM

For web-savvy kids everywhere, Santa's journey from the North Pole can be tracked online.

The North American Aerospace Defence Command (Norad), which is responsible for aerospace and maritime defence, has teamed up with internet giants Google to make Santa's busy 24 hours visible online via the www.noradsanta.org site.

It appears he has already dropped off some some gifts in Russia, Japan, Fiji, North Korea, New Zealand and Australia and will be heading to the UK later.

So you'd better be good for goodness sake...

I am here and I am trying my hardest.

There,
or here,
I am now.
And I have
become a
housewife.

I got so
into it
that I accidentally
locked myself
out of the house
while washing
windows today.

I swear that
money
put into
cirkus school
truly went to
use when I had
to clime over
ten whole fences
to get to a spair
set of keys.

My gosh
you should have
seen me,
I went like
a sprung monkey!

I say heroic.
Typical,
my mother
would say.

La Mar Cebicheria Peruana

The most delicious fresh chips - sweet potato, potato, and banana plantain - I've ever had. Also the reason, I say that is because Mikey-Ike usually does not eat banana plantain, he devoured it all! So it must be Good =) These were like crack - addicting!

I was probably a little bit tipsy here... Lol. I had a cocktail, which probably wasn't a very good idea. But I got through the day, or going around the market, without knocking off things or making a fool of myself.

I thought I'd try it - the cocktail. It was alright. I was never a cocktail drinker. More of a wine drinker.
Anyway...
Next to it, was some sort of purple-corn non-alcoholic beverage - yummy!

This was the best grilled octopus, I've ever had in SF!
When were in NY, we went to this particular restaurant and OMG, it was there I had an amazing grilled octopus. Since then, I've been on the look out for the best grilled octopus and I found it in La Mar!

"Traditional Peruvian style stir-fry of sautéed beef tenderloin, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, soy sauce, garlic, aji amarillo with potato fries and rice"

This is similar to Bistek in the Filipino cuisine. This was amazing also. It wasn't loaded with salt, the tomato counterbalanced the saltyness of the soy sauce.
It was perfect. I'm going to try and imitate this recipe.

I thought this was a banana dessert, but I could be wrong.

So that was how we spent our Speedy lunch on Saturday. Afterwards, we hunted for our purrrfect tomato; unfortunately we didn't find it (which was our agenda). When we got to the market, the vendors were packing already and little were left behind.

Happy Holidays from SF

I hope your Holiday is a Great and Happy one!

I miss you...

I wish you all the very best for 2009!!!

Give my best to your Family and lovey =)))

Bon voyage!

"When nothing else to talk about... Talk about the weather."

Lol. I'm just kidding! It has been a bit cold and rainy here lately.

Anyway,
You're off to your new adventure.
Be careful and have fun!

=)))

Keep us posted!

Love always,
Allura

Connie Talbot

Adorable, isn't she? And oh-so Talented...

Leaving.

Before I get
all emotional,
i'll just tell you
that i am first
off to Stockholm, Sweden
with my family
and on the 23rd of December
I shall land in Lovetown.
(where i can update again)

But before Lovetown
comes Breakdown
in a little muscle
called the heart
in my chest cavity.

This autumn i have
loved
lost
argued
cried
screamed
talked bad things
drunk drinks
laughed heaps
whispered
sung
danced
felt good
felt bad
felt like human again

while being surrounded with
a small but to me
larger than life
group of human beings
that i know
will be there for me
whenever again.

Then i think that
wowiamsoblessedishallnotgetoverit.
And while being here
writing with you!

So i'll see you
on the other side
of the globe
and remember
i love you
my dearest you.

I absolutely adore these images
by Pamela Klaffke.
They are called the
Bestia parvulus
as in 'animal child'.

I think they just look so much like..
highschool for some reason.
And so beautiful most of all.

Speaking of Flea Markets

I've been looking for my perfect study table.

Today, I thought I'd check out the Flea Market.
Unfotunately, I didn't find my table, but here are some things I saw...

If only this cardigan fit me... I adore the details and the color =).

One of the "SF Ladies" was wearing one these faux furs.

Perfect for your miniature doll house =)))

There were tons of tea sets. I may get one next time - for fun =).

Adorable little bowls.

All kinds of jewelries.

Next time I need tools... I'm not going to spend a fortune when I know I can get cheap ones at the Flea Market.

Paintings.

I'd love to come to this flea market very early next time.

Little and big things... I even saw a fake Xmas tree!

A picture of you popped up in my head when I saw these.

I loved going to these sort of places with you.
You have a very keen eye on things that are worth getting =).
