California State Route 84

This highway is one of my favorite route to drive through. I would drive from the City, down to South Highway 1 (right next to the Pacific Ocean), and exit onto Route 84, which is just a few minutes away from Halfmoon Bay.

This route is a winding road. One day I wish to have a race car and drive through it - I'd for sure die... Also, it's a beautiful drive b/c on both sides of the road are trees, a bit like you're driving in a forrest.

Whenever I'm down and feel the need to unwind from stress and such; I take my car and will drive for hours until I get tired and I turn around.

SF Weekend

San Francisco is dreary today =///
Anyway...

I've replaced SBux w/ Peet's =))). I prefer Blue Bottle any day, but since they're not as commercialized - not in every corner of the City - as Peet's (or SBux), Peet's will do. Wayyy better and consistent (& stronger!).
Anyway, the market today is full as usual; even though the weather is sucky. I love eating and having fresh veggies and fruits in the house. The only thing about our outdoor market here is('sustainable farming') they're produce is mostly what is in season. We don't get yearly of the same produce of veggies and fruits. So whatever is in season is what they only sell.
It's a healthy way of living - variety is healthy for your diet.
Have a Great Weekend!!!

Coincidences

Guess what came on earlier =??? Lol... Out Of Africa! Such a marvel! Lol... OMG! Made me cry though... Beautiful film.

Made me Long (more) for Africa [cradle of mankind]. I have to go there - no matter what.

Yesterday

I walked the streets of Copenhagen.
It was better than I dared to remember.
So I walked 22,000 steps

When I didn't walk I sat.

I wish you were here to sit with me.

Today I didn't sit down once.
I had a day off to meet friends, spend some couple time, listen to Ida Reding live, go to an art show opening (didn't dare to take champagne, there were so few off us), make dinner, bake cakes, ride my bike and read a book.
Quality day I'd say.

Sydney Pollack

Sydney Pollack passed away today at 73, of Cancer.

Oh bore.

Mondays. Sucky Mondays.
Woke up. Rain. Biked to campus. Printed out poster for Fridays competition. Sat on the train. Went to another campus. Frustrated supervisor with stolen bicycle. More rain. Sat in office dreaming, writing. Went to a meeting. Sat on the train. Biked home. Toilet. Bliss. But no toiletpaper. More rain outside the window. Closed down the blinds. No more rain! Buried down in bed with a book 'Reading In Bed'. Waiting for tomorrow.

Luckily the air seems to be clearing out. God bless.

Memorial Day

This is a Holiday for most of Americans. Commemorating those who perished while in military sevice.
There are tons of tourists right now in the City.

Mi Darling Mikey-Ike and I, we went for a short drive up North (Tiburon), less than half an hour away from SF. It was a lovely drive. Always nice to get out of the City once in a while. He gave me a tour of Tiburon's Downtown area. Pretty and quaint - which describe most of little towns up North.

G'night and G'day

Sunny Sundays

På söndag satt vi i parken och åt en massa godisdjur.
Men först fick dom alla träffas och umgås.
Jag tyckte att de såg lyckliga ut.

Sunday was spent in the park with candy.
The theme of the day was 'Animal Zoo'.
They all seemed happy to mingle.

What I miss about America

Coffee.
I miss saying :
'venti-soylatte-180-with straw-please'.
And getting what I asked for.
Here they just go:
Vad? Var? Varför? Sugrör? Nej.
(What. Where. Why. Straw. No.)
So I drink tea.

Skittles.

Altoids.

Why don't we do a candy swap?
You send me Skittles and Altoids.
I send you naturgodis.

You would love this stuff!
Peanuts, dried berries, nuts covered in dark chocolate...

I met my father

I met my father in Malmö.
The Swedish hippies were dancing.

We had dinner with vino and a good chatter.

I enjoyed some pannacotta.
It was not all that but the little lime-sugar coated strawberries made my belly smile.
Thanks dad!

Ceramics

Just finished my Int'l Rel. exam. Phew.... One more essay to do and I am fini =)))

Anyway, up there is one of my ceramics that came out 'OK', not great but at least Ok. I don't even know what it is. Except that it was part of something I was trying to make, my 'blueprint' didn't came out the way I wanted it to so... there you go. Blah! Such a disappointing semester in Ceramics. No point on dwelling... Let's all move on now... =)))

The fog has gone away, outside. Maybe, I'll take advantage of this weather and go for a stroll.

Hejdå!

Nu ska jag träffa min pappa.
Det var länge sen..
Göttis!

It's time to go meet my pops.

But I don't.

I dream.

Usually of
cupcakes.

Crush

I have a secret crush on Jane Birkin.
(Now, a very public one.)
She must be the most beautiful thing on this Earth.
I don't think I could ever hug her.
So instead I hug my friend Julie.
The resemblance is obvious.

Sex AND The City

Not sure if you're still into SexAND The City. But this is for you, Missy =))).

We were strolling around East Village when Mikey-Ike's friend asked me I liked Sex and The City, and he brought us here. Funny on the TV Show, the street where this is located is pretty spacious, the opposite in reality. Also the Magnolia Bakery is just around the corner. I've had (wayyy) better cupcakes.

Grandma

Hey A, just thinking about your mexican feast and I have to say even though I don't enjoy eating carne I still drooled all over my desk. (Gotta dry it soon..)

We had a little tantfika with my girls yesterday.
Tantfika can be freely translated to: Grandma Tea.
And that's exactly what we had!
Nice tea and freshly baked cake.
I sat on a comfy chair with a grandma teacup and a little filt over my shoulders.
Old soul, that's what I am and god bless to that.

Ride

When I found this baby at the sunny car show I knew exactly what to do with it.
This is who I would invite:
Maasha
Allura
Sartsa and baby boi
Hännä
Ännä and baby boi
Ästä
Julia
Pekso with his cute fiancee

This is what we would do:
drive in medium baby approved pace on the streets of Paris
drink fresh strawberry juice
eat cinnamon buns
be happy

What we would wear:
anything a la Thelma and Louise

Oh boi. That would be fun let me tell you.

Oi kesä-Suomi.
Joko olet täällä pian?
Kurvailemisiin.

About those Tacos...

Pardon my excessive use of "OMG". Whenever I see/taste/feel heavenly, OMG is always my first reaction.

Alright about those Carne Asada Tacos...
El Tonayense's tacos are bursting with flavors. It's on top of 2 white soft corn tortillas. The chopped small meats are marinated for ages so the flavors are in every bite. A spoon of hot salsa is on top of it, with chopped sweet onions! It is just to die for.

El Tonayense

Hello, mi Lovely (h)Elena =).

Thanks for getting this started.
You ROCK!

Alright, about my subject...
El Tonayense.

It's a Taco Truck on 14st and Harrison St, in San Francisco. OMG! I've always been curious what they're cooking inside these taco trucks (they're all over). Then Mikey-Ike is apparently a
connoisseur of Taco Trucks. He brought me there... and OMG! you would never believe their carne asada tacos. It was Delicious! I've never tasted quite anything like it before, it was seriously out of this world. I could never get enough of it.

If I can, I'll have their carne asada tacos everyday. My rule now is to satisfy my cravings once a month. Although sometimes I may break that rule b/c Rainbow Grocery (Co-Op Market) is just a block away. By the way, Elena, you would LOVE Rainbow Grocery Store - they have your goodies/treats there.

Alright... adios for now =).

Hearts,
a

On the train

I sit on the train two hours each day.
Today I sat with two old men.
One of them was cute and cuddly, the other one grumpy and sour.
But together they united over some artbooks.
The sour and the sweet in perfect symbiosis.
Kind of like sweet and sour chicken.

They looked a bit like this:
I love old stylish men.

First day miss Damitgamit!

I think our blogg is on :)

Welcome people, this is the first post on Diba Daba.
